From Muráňská Planina we headed through Slovak Paradise, where we only made a very short stop, to Slovak Karst and from there straight to Hungary.
We spent one day in Slovak Paradise, mostly running around the van while Leo worked. In the afternoon we took a shorter walk to the Palcmanská Maša reservoir, then continued south. We spent the night in a parking lot below Krásna Hôrka Castle, which had an amazing view in the morning.
I convinced Leo to drive to the village of Jovice, where he parked the van and worked while I ran up to the viewpoint at Brzotín Rocks in the morning. A short but intense climb that fully satisfied me, and the views were worth it too.

After lunch we headed toward the border between Domica and the town of Aggtelek, continuing to Bükk National Park. Since we arrived after dark, we didn't even see how beautiful it was. That made it an even bigger surprise for us in the morning. A huge forested area dominated by beech trees, which is even more striking and beautiful in autumn.

We spent several days in this national park. We explored the town of Lillafüred, climbed up to a viewpoint above the town, and also spent one day getting lost in the forest in the fog. As a sort of finale, we enjoyed several hours in the thermal cave baths, a popular attraction in the town of Miskolc.

On our last day in Hungary we visited Tokaj. We walked through the small town and bought some wines. The next day we're crossing into Romania, which also involves lots of prep work on the van, gathering all documents, and carefully choosing the best border crossing!
